\u305d\u306e McCabe Lectures<\/strong> are a part of the academic enrichment offerings in the Senior School at NLCS (Singapore). They honour the late Bernice McCabe<\/strong>, Headmistress of NLCS (UK) from 1997 to 2017, whose visionary leadership guided the international expansion of the NLCS family of schools, including the founding of NLCS (Singapore). Mrs McCabe believed that academic rigour, depth of subject knowledge, and the ability to communicate a love of learning<\/em> are the cornerstones of truly excellent teaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Named in her memory, the McCabe Lectures embody this philosophy by bringing together our community of scholars, educators, and parents to share their passions and expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspiring Intellectual Curiosity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The McCabe Lectures give students the opportunity to engage with ideas that go well beyond the confines of the curriculum. Delivered during lunchtimes by staff, parents, and visiting academics, each lecture is designed to spark curiosity, challenge assumptions, and deepen students\u2019 understanding of the world around them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From art and philosophy to science and politics, topics are as diverse as the speakers themselves. What unites them is a shared enthusiasm for discovery and a belief that learning should never be limited by subject boundaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
