NLCS (Singapore)’s fourth annual International Food Festival was a wonderful celebration of culture, flavour, and community. Held for the second year in our spacious Sports Hall, the festival brought together families, students, and staff for a day of shared joy and connection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, our community showcased 28 cuisines from around the world, each lovingly prepared by our parent volunteers. Entirely community-driven, the festival gave new families a warm and easy way to meet others and feel at home. Each stall reflected the personal touch of our families, from the South Korean tribute to K-pop Demon Hunters, to the Australian quiz with a cuddly koala prize, and the British stall featuring King Charles and Queen Camilla for a playful royal photo opportunity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day began with our heartwarming “Flags of My Family” parade, where our Junior School students proudly carried flags representing their heritage, creating a colourful display of the diversity within our community. This celebration of global cultures reflects the rich, multicultural environment our families value. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside the Sports Hall, our cultural programme captivated everyone. Scottish bagpipes set a lively tone, followed by Vibrance of India, a two-part dance showcase blending classical Kathak, folk rhythms, and Bollywood energy. The performance \u201cBring in the Wine\u201d brought Tang dynasty poetry to life, depicting scholars sharing verses, ideas, and celebration. The festival ended on a high energy note with a K-pop workshop led by Ms Khloe Kim, former K-pop girl group member and dance trainer at SM Universe Singapore, where our students and parents joined in to learn the Soda Pop choreography from the K-Pop Demon Hunters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our International Food Festival was more than a celebration of food. It was a true reflection of the warmth, generosity, and spirit of our community.
