Our recent music and poetry evening was a powerful celebration of student creativity, expression, and collaboration.
As part of the Book Week House Competition, poets took to the stage with original spoken word pieces—coached and mentored by the English Department. Their performances left a strong impression on the judges, who had the tough task of choosing a winner from such passionate and polished entries.
The evening also featured a wide range of musical performances, from solos and ensembles to the full symphony orchestra. Tackling a demanding programme spanning Baroque to Contemporary, the orchestra’s finale—Danse Infernale by Stravinsky—was a true showcase of talent, dedication, and the expert guidance of our music staff.
At NLCS (Singapore), the arts are a vital part of the curriculum—giving students space to explore, perform, and express.
