This academic year marks an exciting new chapter at NLCS (Singapore) as we welcome two outstanding Principals to lead our Junior and Senior Schools. Their appointments strengthen our leadership team and reaffirm our commitment to providing an exceptional education, rooted in the proud 175-year heritage of NLCS.
Mr Paul Friend, Director of NLCS (Singapore) shares, “I’m delighted to welcome Sarah and Louise to NLCS (Singapore). Their blend of academic ambition, pastoral depth, and genuine commitment to enrichment reflects the best of the NLCS tradition. Their leadership will help ensure every student is known, stretched, and supported — and that the journey from early years through to the Sixth Form is both seamless and inspiring.”
Our new Senior School Principal, Mrs Sarah Richardson, brings thirty years of experience in education. She has served in senior leadership roles at various schools in the UK. Throughout her career, she has developed high-performing teams, raised academic standards, and enhanced pastoral structures, leading schools successfully through multiple inspections. A History graduate of the University of Kent, with a PGCE from Christchurch College, Canterbury, she also holds the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership. Passionate about holistic education, Mrs Richardson has led extensive enrichment programmes and is deeply committed to supporting each student as an individual, ensuring they are well-prepared for top universities and life beyond.

Leading the Junior School, Mrs Louise McCabe-Arnold joins NLCS (Singapore) with over 20 years of experience in both UK and international schools. She graduated from the University of Leicester with a degree in American Studies, holds a Master’s in Education from Liverpool Hope University, and has completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship. Known for her warm, collaborative leadership, she is deeply committed to high academic standards, excellent pastoral care, and a rich co-curricular life. She looks forward to working closely with families as NLCS (Singapore) continues to grow.

Together, Mrs Richardson and Mrs McCabe-Arnold bring renewed perspectives, expertise, and energy. They are united in their vision to strengthen the Junior-to-Senior transition, ensuring every student experiences a seamless and empowering journey from Pre-KG to the Sixth Form. Their collaborative approach will help shape the next stage of NLCS (Singapore)’s development, maintaining continuity of excellence while inspiring new opportunities for our community.
