Recruitment Disclaimer
It has come to our attention that members of the public have received fraudulent employment offers impersonating NLCS (Singapore). These scams have involved requests for personal information and payments. They may involve other requests as well. These communications do not originate from the School. We are actively monitoring and taking appropriate steps, including working with the relevant authorities on these incidents.
In order to protect potential job applicants and the public, we would like to share the below advice.
Protecting yourself
- Do not respond to unsolicited job offers from unknown individuals or organisations.
- Do not share information, including any ID/passport information, banking/financial information, or work history, with anyone claiming to represent NLCS (Singapore), unless you have verified the sender’s domain (@nlcssingapore.sg).
- Do not make any payments for any reason. NLCS (Singapore) will never ask job applicants to pay fees to “secure a job”.
- Cease communication immediately if you suspect fraud. Official communications from NLCS (Singapore) will only be sent from email addresses ending in @nlcssingapore.sg. We will never contact you from email addresses with other domains (e.g. Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.).
- When in doubt, contact us at [email protected] to verify if a suspicious email is genuine before responding.
Identifying common signs of recruitment scams
- Requests received from a non-‘@nlcssingapore.sg’ email domain to complete forms (e.g. applications, employment contracts, or visa documentation), even if the forms appear legitimate or bear the NLCS (Singapore) name or logo.
- Instructions to communicate with or through third parties, such as “banks”, “lawyers”, “travel agencies”, or “immigration services”.
- Use of unknown mobile numbers or contact platforms instead of the official school number listed on the “Contact Us” page.
- Job offers that require you to make payments for “processing costs” or “reimbursements”, accompanied by pressure tactics such as urgent deadlines or threats of losing the role.
Reporting recruitment scams
If you receive any suspicious communication claiming to be from NLCS (Singapore), please report it immediately to [email protected] .
