On the last day of Term 2, NLCS (Singapore) came together to honour a remarkable legacy on Founder’s Day, our annual celebration commemorating the visionary Frances Mary Buss, founder of NLCS UK, and her pioneering contributions to education.
This year’s Founder’s Day held special significance, marking the fifth anniversary of our vibrant Depot Road campus, now home to over 1,400 students. The spirit of the day was one of joy, reflection, and togetherness, with moments that will be cherished by our school community for years to come.
A highlight of the celebrations was the heartwarming Daffodil Procession, in which our Grade 5 and 6 students paired with our youngest learners from First School, walking hand in hand in a moving symbol of the nurturing and supportive environment that defines life at NLCS (Singapore). This year also saw a wonderful new tradition take root, as parents were welcomed onto campus for the first-ever Founder’s Day Community Coffee Morning. Over morning tea, parents connected with members of the Senior Team, student leaders, and ONLs, fostering a strong sense of belonging and celebrating the integral role families play in our school community.
As we reflect on this year’s Founder’s Day, we celebrate not only Frances Mary Buss’s enduring legacy but also the thriving, dynamic community that makes NLCS (Singapore) so special. With each generation of students, staff, and families, the traditions and values of our school continue to flourish, hand in hand, just as they did on this memorable day.
