When asked how she felt upon being chosen as Athlete of the Term, Amelie shared that she was both surprised and excited. “I love competing and representing my school, so it means a lot to me to be selected. I’m very grateful to my coaches for encouraging me to try new sports, and to my teammates for always supporting and motivating me.”
Amelie’s highlight this term was competing at the FOBISIA International Swim Competition in Phuket. As one of the youngest participants, she admitted to feeling nervous at first, but the support of Coach Simpson and her teammates quickly put her at ease. “The three-day experience was exhausting, but I loved every second of it: racing, cheering for our team, and being part of such a special experience.” With her family in attendance to cheer her on, it was a moment she will not soon forget, and one that has only fuelled her excitement for the upcoming FOBISIA Games in May.
Amelie is a wonderful example of the sporting spirit we nurture at NLCS (Singapore), and we look forward to seeing all that she will achieve in the months ahead.
