This year’s Senior School Production of Julius Caesar was a roaring success, uniting over sixty students on and off stage in a performance that demonstrated the very best of creativity, collaboration, and commitment at NLCS (Singapore).
The stage was transformed with a wonderful lighting design by Mr Trevor Teo, setting the scene for a production that captivated audiences from start to finish. The entire cast rose to the occasion with magnificent ensemble work and some truly memorable principal performances from the leads. From assassinating Caesars to crafting spears and shields, every student, whether in the spotlight or behind the scenes, played a vital role in bringing Shakespeare’s iconic tragedy to life.
Directors Mr Trevill and Mr Lund expressed their immense pride in all who got involved, and it was clear that the experience left a lasting impression on the students themselves. For many, the production was far more than a performance. It was an opportunity to push beyond their comfort zones, take on demanding roles, and grow in confidence, communication, and resilience. Friendships were forged across year groups, and memories were made that will be cherished long after the curtain fell.
As one student reflected, the production was time consuming but most definitely worth it, a sentiment shared by many who found the experience as personally rewarding as it was artistically fulfilling. At NLCS (Singapore), our drama programme is an integral part of school life, offering students the space to discover their voice, develop as individuals, and experience the unique joy of live performance, qualities that define a truly holistic education at our international school in Singapore.
