The NLCS (Singapore) Young Musicians Award 2026 got off to a wonderful start across two days of Live Heats, as our Junior, Intermediate, Senior, and Advanced musicians took to the stage and showcased the remarkable depth of musical talent within our community.
Day 1 saw our Junior and Intermediate musicians perform with confidence, focus, and musicality. From expressive interpretations to impressive technical control, it was a joy to witness the calibre of our young performers. Day 2 brought an inspiring conclusion to the Live Heats, as our Senior and Advanced musicians delivered performances of remarkable maturity, artistry, and technical command, with each performer demonstrating both technical excellence and a strong sense of musical identity.
Our sincere thanks go to our distinguished judging panel for their expertise, time, and thoughtful insights throughout both days of competition: Joshua Tan (International Conductor), Nicholas Ong (Head of Keyboard, NAFA), Hana Yuen (Associate Principal, Singapore Symphony Orchestra), and Cho-Liang Lin (Award-winning Cellist). We are also grateful to our valued partners and sponsors, Yamaha Music Singapore, ABRSM, Songwork, and Lion Music Productions, for their generous support.
We now look ahead to the Grand Final concerts on 6 and 7 June, where selected finalists will perform with orchestra. We are delighted to welcome George Harliono and Zhi Jong Wang, who will be performing and mentoring our young musicians. Further details and tickets will be available shortly.
