Our Grade 5 students recently travelled to Shanghai to compete in the U11 FOBISIA Maths Competition, a challenging event that brought together 44 teams from 10 countries. Across two days of competition, they took part in a range of tasks including maths trails, investigations, logic rounds, construction challenges, and fast-paced relays.
We are incredibly proud of their outstanding results. Our students claimed 1st place in two challenges (Investigation and Split Relay) and finished 2nd overall out of 44 teams, just 15 points behind the winners. Special congratulations also go to those who were awarded Gold, Silver, and Bronze in the individual Maths paper, recognised as the top 5%, 10%, and 15% of competitors respectively. It was a brilliant display of teamwork, resilience, and mathematical thinking that reflects the dedication of our young mathematicians.
